Dock Talk:

STOUT MARINE EXPANDS: Tom Stout founded Stout Marine with the vision of creating a fully integrated marine service provider. In order to be a continuing leader in the marine industry and to better serve the demands of cruisers and racers, Stout Marine has secured a larger workshop with waterfront access on Back Creek. Stout Marine's new location will be in the Jabin's Yacht-Yard facility at 7416 Edgewood Road - a new building on the old "Ocean Outfitters" site.

Coupled with the existing mobile yacht service, this new facility will enhance thier ability to provide superior service in a venue most convenient for the customer. Tom says, “We chose this location to service clients for its easy waterfront access as well the convenient proximity to Jabin's and the Annapolis area.” Stout Marine specializes in main/genoa furling systems, rig and tuning surveys, rope splicing and electronic installation/calibration with specific emphasis on Ockam, Simrad, NKE, Raytheon, Furuno, Garmin and NavMan. Stout Marine also provides a variety of boat maintenance and yacht management services.

History : Stout Marine Enterprises, LLC debuted in Annapolis in July 2002. Tom Stout, the owner, indicates that although the business is young, the planning has been in the pipeline since he sold his construction business in Philadelphia and relocated to Annapolis over ten years ago. Before forming Stout Marine, Tom worked ten years for Whitehall Yacht Yard where he says, “I fine tuned my skills working for one of the most reputable boatyards on the Bay.”

Services : Stout Marine anticipates developing a niche servicing the needs of cruisers and racers throughout the Bay area. The company offers boat maintenance, yacht management and yacht commissioning services, plus mobile services specializing in rig & tuning surveys, deck hardware, splicing, electronics and electrical installations and repair. An avid racer, Tom Stout is available to provide service at regattas including set up & break down of boats as well as tending to any repairs required during the regatta.
